Fashion Design: 1-Year Foundation Programme

This programme has been developed for fashion enthusiasts who are looking to express their creativity using fabrics and colors. The one year course aims to empower students with the skill-set required to enter the fashion industry as professional stylists, sampling coordinators in the garment manufacturing industry, assistants with top industry experts, freelance designers for children's & women's wear and as assistants to fashion illustrators.

Consider this as an introduction to the world of fashion design where students acquire the basic knowledge needed to start a career as a fashion designer.

    Semester 1

         The student will learn how to elaborate a concept using tools such as fashion forecasting, color interaction and more. They will study the different properties of design ranging from fibers to fabrics, printing, knotting and embellishment techniques used in a professional environment.

    Semester 2

         Students will be introduced to the concept of garment illustrations. This knowledge will form the basis for them to communicate their design ideas effectively. Several basic details pertaining to garment construction applicable to children's and women's wear will also be taught.
